Rock the Riverfront

To test concepts for the “Evolving Our Riverfront Parks” plan, interactive art, vendors, music and entertainment where hosted on the Green in the Spring for three years.

Winter Break Spectacular

Celebrating the end of the school year, Winter Break Spectacular provided families a perfect way to kick off the holiday break with a movie, games and entertainment.

Alley Animation Grants

With financial support from the Lyndhurst Foundation, a selection committee selected eight applicants to activate and create a sense of place in Cooper’s Alley.

Art in Motion

A collaboration between CARTA, Public Art Chattanooga and River City Company in 2011 to transform CARTA downtown electric shuttles into mobile public works of art by five local artists. You can still see a few of the Art in Motion shuttles zooming around Downtown today.

Passageways

Passageways is a community outreach project of the 2016 AIA Tennessee State Convention held August 24-26 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is a public architecture exhibit focusing on the urban fabric that exists in the space between our city’s buildings.

Project: Popup

River City Company launched Project: PopUp in the spring of 2012 with the goal of allowing five budding business owners to test out their concept for six months rent free in the hopes of signing a long term lease at the program’s end.

Take a Break in Miller Park

To provide a welcoming place for downtown employees, residents and visitors to relax, River City Company partnered with the Downtown Chattanooga Alliance and City of Chattanooga to enliven Miller Park.

Music & Movies in Miller

Saturdays during the summer were filled with fun for the entire family with a series of local live music and favorite featured films.

Food Truck Fridays

Food Truck Fridays were held in Miller Park every Friday in the Fall since 2018. Miller Park is activated with a variety of food trucks and a different arts and cultural performance each week.

Center PArk

Previously used as a community pocket park, food truck hub and outdoor movie theater, Center Park is now the home to a 10-story, mixed-use development called Market City Center.

Passageways 2.0

To enhance a new downtown alleyway in the heart of Downtown Chattanooga, River City Company, Tinker Ma and Public Art Chattanooga sought unique, innovative design concepts with a cohesive artistic vision from multi-disciplinary design teams.

Urban Design Challenge

Local urban design teams were tapped to create the best future for key downtown sites as part of the Urban Design Challenge. Six teams made up of local architects, developers & designers were chosen to create concept plans for improving the six key downtown sites.

Family Fun Days

We welcomed families to the Chattanooga Green to participate in free activities including kite building. The program was a part of the ONE Riverfront Planning process to test concepts for the Riverfront.

Holiday Market

Miller Plaza was full of holiday cheer and local gifts along with music and treats to showcase local retailers and entrepreneurs. A variety of local retailers were on-site with unique and holiday gifts.

Explore Downtown Living TOur

The Downtown Living Tour aims to highlight the many apartment options in Downtown Chattanooga spanning from the NorthShore to the Southside with a mix urban lofts to amenity rich properties.

Open Spaces

Open Spaces brought life and animation to previously empty storefronts through dynamic and vibrant installations of art, light and tech. Open Spaces included 22 total installations in 19 vacant storefronts. Many of those storefronts are now occupied.
