Rise & Shine - It's Breakfast Month!

Who doesn’t love breakfast? Lucky for us, September was National Breakfast Month so we took a tour and hit some of Chattanooga’s favorite spots to snag a plate!

You want to make sure you start your day off right with a good breakfast and Chattanooga makes it easy - with tons of delicious local breakfast and coffee stops with menus that are just too good to pass up! The only challenge is deciding which tasty spot to try, that’s where we come in!

Let this blog be your starting point to all things breakfast in each district - and of course, make sure to check out each restaurant’s neighboring businesses as well!

Puckett’s

Our first stop was on the Riverfront at none other than Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant!

If you’re missing home cooked meals and comfort food - this is the place for you! Puckett’s has it all from the classic breakfast of eggs and bacon to a gigantic skillet cinnamon roll that melts in your mouth. For this stop, we chose the sweet route & split the cinnamon roll and trust me - it did NOT disappoint!

Between the friendly staff and the undeniably good food, Puckett’s is a must try! And if you aren’t an early riser, they serve lunch/dinner as well as live music in the evenings! Don’t miss out!

Bantam + Biddy

Next up - we headed to City Center to check out Bantam + Biddy’s menu!

There were so many good choices - we had to pick 2! To get a taste of both, we ordered one savory and one sweet option. We ordered the cheddar biscuit and gravy (don’t worry - you can make this a double if you want!) and the banana bread waffles - and yes, you read that right! Banana bread waffles?! Unique, but so good!

Bantam + Biddy is the perfect place if you are looking to grab a quick bite on the go or if you’d like to sit down and relax. With at the counter ordering, you can be enjoying your food before you know it!

And although we ventured out with the breakfast options, stop in one afternoon to try their well known chicken dishes!

Aretha frankenstein’s

Stop Number Three - it’s Aretha Frankenstein!

Nestled in the neighborhoods of Northshore, the bright teal house is hard to miss! The wrap around porch welcomes customers into the quaint eatery with decoration filled walls and funky lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling.

Aretha’s is known for their pancakes, with their mix even being sold by the box, so we went with a double stack and added the blueberry butter on top! And trust us, it was to die for. The cozy atmosphere and comfort style food, it made for the perfect breakfast on a fall morning.

The best part? A Halloween movie played on the TV hanging behind the bar as we finished our stack of pancakes! If you’re looking for good food and unique atmosphere, Aretha Frankenstein’s offers just that plus great service!

Milk And Honey

Last, but certainly not least - Milk and Honey!

At this stop we strayed away from the traditional idea of a breakfast food and went for something a bit out of comfort zone - we got the Ricotta and Honey shareable on sourdough toast. Though this might not be something you typically think of for breakfast, don’t knock it until you try it!

The ricotta and the honey mixed together creates the perfect amount of sweetness to pair with the fresh, warm toast! It was more than enough to share between two friends and comes in perfect containers to be able to take your leftovers home.

Milk and Honey has aesthetically pleasing all over it - the inside seating area full of fun, comfortable booths and the bar makes for the perfect breakfast or brunch spot. To enjoy the fall weather, we took advantage of the outdoor seating in front of the restaurant! When you stop in, don’t forget to check out their menu of signature drinks!
