Light Up Chatt Parade - March 23, 2024

Parade Information

Let’s Light Up Chatt! For everyone to have an enjoyable experience, we have provided more details for the parade.

  • This is an ADA accessible route which is approximately .57 miles from start to finish.

  • This is a walking parade. Please no wagons and coolers in the parade. Baby strollers are acceptable. 

  • Any child 15 or younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. A child 15 or younger cannot walk in the parade without their parent/guardian. 

  • Very well socialized dogs who are not frightened by large crowds or drums are permitted in the parade. They must be on a leash at all times.

  • Secure lanterns, clothing, etc (like shoelaces) before stepping out for safety and to ensure art does not fall or get blown away.

  • Give each other plenty of space so you do not accidentally bump others with your body or lanterns. 

  • Keep a consistent spacing and strut as you parade and refrain from rushing ahead of others. Remember we are brighter together!

  • Be mindful and helpful to others yet try not to abruptly stop marching unless necessary.

  • If a parader falls, gets lost, or is separated from their group, carefully notify Parade Support ( in the blue/green vests) and they will assist immediately. 

Parade Timeline:

  • Check-in/lineup at *Walnut Plaza* NEW LOCATION!: 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

  • Parade Leaves Walnut Plaza: 6:30pm

  • Parade Arrives at Chattanooga Green: 7:30pm

The parade registration and start will begin in Walnut Plaza. We will follow the ADA ramp down past the Hunter Museum of American Art and onto the sidewalk on Riverfront Parkway.

Parking is located near Walnut Plaza on Walnut Street indicated by the blue stars. Participants can also park near the Chattanooga Green where the parade will end.
